Thoughts on LinkedIn articles? Thoughts on article vs. a LinkedIn newsletter? I have a C suite exec who is starting to write long form content and we’ve already discussed breaking the long form into shorter form posts. But for the longer form stuff - hosting it on our website doesn’t make sense for our goals - so wondering what longer form format on LinkedIn people are still seeing success from? Or has everyone moved on to just posts and video?
Linkedin newsletters are the best kept secret on LinkedIn. Write articles and then once a month or every 2 weeks compile them into a newsletter. When you create a newsletter, it automatically invites all your followers to subscribe. Every time you publish, every subscriber gets a notification so the open rates are phenomenal. And a lot of people choose to have the LinkedIn newsletter emailed to them also. Its really powerful but oh so underutilized. Interesting Adbul, I'm probably doing something wrong, because I've been sending the LI newsletter consistently, but not a lot of resutls from it.
I just started a linkedin newsletter... thought I'd hate it and it'd be useless but it's actually really valuable. For 2 reasons:
It notifies all subscribers when you publish (normal posts can't do that)
It emails the newsletter to everyone.
I thought nobody would see my linkedin newsletter, but it's been a top way to distribute it (I've been growing my account for the past 3 years). P.S. LinkedIn is pushing "video thumbnails" for newsletters which is something I've been meaning to try. Lisa C.
Ok so sounds like newsletters work but aren’t like “game changers” and I’ll explore video thumbnails thanks!
I agree with everyone above. Newsletters work. At the same time, LinkedIn is favoring video content, so if you have the bandwidth, you should put some time into that too.
