Calling all recruiters and sales leaders — I’d love your guidance.
I’ve been actively looking for a new role for a while now and have tried every channel I can think of. Recently, I found a Sales Manager (AE-leading) role at a SaaS company that felt like a perfect fit.
I reached out directly to the potential reporting Director, who kindly asked me to connect with their recruiter. I followed up immediately — email, LinkedIn message — but never heard back. I also tried reconnecting with the Director, but no response there either.
Now I’m second-guessing everything.
Was there something I could have done better?
Did I approach it wrong?
Or is this just how hiring cycles work sometimes?
It felt like a strong opportunity, and I’d really appreciate any insights from this community on:
What might trigger a recruiter to go silent even when referred internally?
How to handle situations like this without appearing pushy?
What you would do differently if you were in my position?
I’m happy to share my resume if anyone is open to taking a quick look or offering feedback.
Thank you — really appreciate any advice you can offer.
