Hi all! I’ve been messaging with some of you over the last month about outbound, signals, and what AI is doing to reply rates. The tool behind those conversations took off on its own, so I wanted to share where it landed (a few of you knew it under its old name, Daimyo). It’s called Overlord, and as of this week it’s officially a real company - Overlord Technologies. I’ve been an enterprise sales guy for 13 years, and I built it to automate my own outbound because everything in the market fails sellers in one of two ways:
Volume tools: mass sends of AI slop that prospects delete in two seconds and that quietly burn your domain reputation
Hyper-personalized platforms: expensive, and they either require you to know how to build your own agents or bundle in a managed service layer you’re paying for whether you use it or not
Overlord sits in its own niche:
Scans for buying signals - funding rounds, hiring surges, exec changes - and finds the right person at the company
Drafts outreach in your own voice, based on how you actually write. The rep reviews and sends everything - nothing goes out on its own
Day zero tool: no CRM required, no Clay, no enrichment stack, no integrations to wire up, etc. You put in what you sell and it runs your outbound motion from the first login
Running it myself, I’m seeing around 23 meetings per 500 contacts, roughly 3.5x what my manual outreach converted at. An enterprise sales team runs it in production daily, and my first customers onboarded this week. I’m keeping it invite only and deliberately small - a hand-selected group of sellers, teams, and operators I personally onboard and work with directly. If you’re running outbound and want to see it against your actual ICP, I’d love to find 30 minutes to show you live. And if you’re an SDR leader or run an agency, I’m especially interested in comparing notes - a few of those conversations have already shaped the roadmap. https://calendly.com/alex-trydaimyo/30min
Hassan M. - thats actually exactly what I and my team have built out at Daimyo. You said it best: AI can scale relevance but can't create it. Our whole bet is that you don't manufacture a reason to care, you find the moment one already exists. We scan target accounts for what just changed, a new exec, a hiring surge, a raise, then build the outreach around that trigger with the reasoning shown, so the rep sees why now instead of a black box score. And nothing goes out on its own. Every draft lands in the rep's inbox to edit and send. The research grunt work gets automated, the judgment stays human. For our first enterprise team it's been 23 meetings booked per 500 contacts. Seems its working!
Hey Jean! Feeling this one as well - I’ve been leading enterprise teams for over a decade and reply rates on volume plays have fallen off a cliff this year (sub 1%). Every inbox is a wall of the same AI-written email now. What changed things for my team was flipping the targeting question from who fits our ICP to who fits our ICP and had something happen this week. A new exec building their agenda, or a job post for work your product would replace. Same market, a fraction of the sends, meaningfully better meetings. I ended up building internal tooling around it because the manual research was eating two hours of my morning and for each of my reps. Happy to walk through the approach if useful, no pitch, just comparing notes on what’s working. Calendar below if a call is easier. https://calendly.com/alex-trydaimyo/30min
👋 Hey all! Alex here, founder at Daimyo.

I am an exited AI founder with twelve years in enterprise B2B sales. Most of my career has been in high-touch institutional outbound that involved large, complex deals with no room for spray and pray. About a month ago I built an AI outbound engine called Daimyo to handle the research and personalization that was taking an hour per prospect. Since then, its completely automated my own outbound and two enterprise sales teams (30+) are using it daily.
Happy to talk:
Signal-based prospecting and why list-based outbound isn’t working anymore
What it actually takes to build AI into a live sales motion by someone who has done sales
High-touch outbound in complex, slow-moving industries
Looking to connect with:
Founders running their own outbound who want to learn more about Daimyo and compare notes
Sales leaders with honest takes on how they are using AI and where the gaps are
Anyone who’s piloted one of the big AI sales agent platforms and has real feedback
For fun: Competitive Warhammer 40k painter and avid video gamer. Love building things and painting things 🙂
