Do you — or someone you know — have an initiative that could use a team of software engineers or AI/ML engineers this fall? TL;DR Two University of Toronto courses are looking for partner projects for Fall 2026 (September–December). A student team builds real software for you; you get the product and the code. We are looking for real projects and about two meetings a month. Round 1 closes Tue Sept 1, Round 2 Tue Sept 8 at 5 PM ET. Submit here: athena.cptohq.com/partnership CSC301 — Introduction to Software Engineering Teams of 6–7 undergraduates build a web, mobile, desktop, or AI application — anything with a custom software component. Each team is mentored by an experienced TA. This is cohort 19. CSC2701 — MScAC Team Project Master’s students in the Applied Computing program (MScAC) take on AI/ML, data engineering, analytics, and visualization projects. How the handover works: The product and the code are released only to you at the end of term as open source (e.g., MIT license). What we ask of you: A real project with a real user • About 2-4 meetings a month with your team Two deadlines: • Round 1 — Tuesday, September 1 (11:59 PM ET): reviewed first and shared with students before classes begin • Round 2 — Tuesday, September 8 (5:00 PM ET): Reviewed and shared with students. Students may have already selected another proposal. How to propose: Everything is here: athena.cptohq.com/partnership The page explains the process, the partnership, and the next steps, and answers most of the questions you probably have right now. Register, pick your course, and fill in the form — about 30 minutes for CSC2701, closer to an hour for CSC301. Across 18 cohorts we’ve worked with more than 200 partners — startups, hospitals, universities, and nonprofits — some returning 7-8 times. We consistently receive more proposals than we can place, mostly because of returning partners, so earlier is better. Not sure whether your idea fits? Reply here or DM me — happy to talk it through.
