RevGenius: New Community Initiatives for Growth and Engagement
@here Our goal is to acquire 5k community members a month (current: 1k). To do that, and keep it as a safe spam-free space, we are leveling up our product and onboarding as a first step. New community products & updates launched this week at RevGenius: 1. Leadership Roundtables - had 50 Revenue Leaders and Founders join us for our Xfactor.io roundtable to have a raw and open dialogue on challenges they're facing and how to overcome them. (pic below!) We will continue this as a part of a Revenue Creator Roundtable series (at least monthly to start). There will be a private leader-only channel that accompanies. 2. Job Seeker Product - used Fillout to help us build an intake for all RG community members searching for jobs. Complete with resumé drop, this is an opportunity to build a database of the leaders in our community looking for their next opportunity. Bonus: results go directly into slack and are only posts allowed in the 🔒[private feed] channel. Keeps out noise, format is crisp, and hiring managers can easily view available talent in real time. Have a backend database that leaders can now hit me up for to view all available folks in RevGenius easily. win-win 3. Startup Pitch product - nobody likes hearing (unwanted) startup pitches. (Full stop). But, people do want to know about startups that are getting funding, launching new features, offering discounts or special offers to the RG community, looking for feedback, etc (on their own time). Enter our Startup Pitch Channel. Intake form directly into hashtag #chat-startup-pitches allows for the pitches to be structured and focused and the noise and wild wild west past atmosphere to be removed. Results: members are actually WANTING to learn more about some, meeting founders and leaders of companies, and finding the next pieces of their tech stack. Back-end directory of all startups is available to all community members that ask. Will eventually consider making this an easier to access subdomain. 4. We combined sales + marketing + customer success channels into a single #chat-gtm. I kept it separate for so long for reasons that are no longer as important as connecting them. Was seeing the same conversations happening in multiple and had to direct folks to 'also post in xxxx' as a result of gtm truly unifying. This reflects that. hashtag #chat-revops is still separate (for now) as RevOps folks are talking a bit more technically into systems and workflows. But I'm already seeing a 'slight' overlap and foreshadow a future where there's just a single revenue channel. Results: more focus and alignment, less noise. Win-win 5. Updated email onboarding sequence. Long time coming; modernized it to show the direction the community is growing into with a focus on getting into slack where onboarding continues (will add leadership roundtables to flow too). 6. Find out in Slack... I thank @Karthi Ratnam for empowering and and pushing me to lead the revolution. The Revenue Creator movement is just getting started. 🚀
