LinkedIn Contest for Team Growth: Who Will Win?
@channel I recently challenged 3 of our new team members to grow their LinkedIn connections. 2 of them were below 200 connections and 1 was around 600. The contest was for the 2 below 500 to compete for who could hit 500 faster and the other to see if they can hit 1k before either hit 500. Here's who's competing (connect with them): Angela Mondal Nandini Raha Upamanyu Ghosh They are absolute all-stars who are leveling up every day. In the world of building community, especially one that is intertwined with this platform, this seemed like a no brainer contest to stand up. Our company goals aligned with this are to level up our company LinkedIn page engagement. Company followers are outstanding (80k+) but want to have our engagement align with that. The first contest is simple - get to the next 500 follower/connection plateau quickly. Build the muscle of figuring out the most likely people who will say yes (relevant to our community). We have 4k+ people with 'RevGenius' on their LinkedIn profiles so if they max out their connections weekly connecting with them, theoretically, they'll get there FAST. Because our team is very competitive, that alone may not have them win the competition (everyone is using the same 'tactics'). Additionally, the next contest (foreshadowing) will be who can get the most engagement themselves on LinkedIn on their personal accounts. You don't truly understand how to increase a company page engagement unless you understand how to build your own. So, I gifted them Justin Welsh's LinkedIn OS to have a framework for posting. This is a timeless starting point. No AI hacks. No templates to follow. Just building their own niches authentically. I told them to show up authentically as themselves with what they know and are good at and not try to be anything they're not. If it nets them a side hustle, so be it. That means it's working. (as an aside I tell my team frequently that there are two goals I have running concurrently: (1) make revgenius win and (2) make sure the team at revgenius wins too) This is a way to do that. I truly believe giving tasks to lift our team members directly will impact lifting the RevGenius LinkedIn page. And build a stronger and more connected team. Angela already made her first post yesterday - I love it! Who would you bet on to win this competition? Is this even a good idea? What are you doing to help your teams become a strong as possible?
