I am curious about the market in 2026 for SaaS Sales hiring, do you all think it is getting better for those job hunting or worse compared to 2025?
I think it's both tbh. Way worse in the sense that AI is being used to both apply to jobs AND assess resumes so the chances of getting an interview through traditional means is 1000x harder. Better in the sense that more hiring managers seem much more interested in applicants that are reaching out and basically using their sales skills to land an interview. Also AI skills are something that can set you apart as an applicant very fast. That's my opinion at least (which may be biased) but would love to hear what others think.
I think recruiting is getting affected by AI overall too. Especially in-house recruiting roles.
I think there will always be a good market for the best
I think the chance to work with different verticals is a stronger option. My read on SaaS sales hiring in 2026 is that it’s tougher for the average job seeker, but better for strong sellers who know how to network, personalize outreach, and show AI fluency. The traditional “apply and wait” route seems harder, while being proactive seems to matter more than ever.
Mike B. That second point is the bet I'm making, so I'd love your read. I've been going direct to hiring managers on LinkedIn instead of applying, and I get replies but not a ton of converted calls. Two things I keep guessing at: whether the founder or the VP Sales is the better first touch at a 20-person company, and whether the opener should be about the role at all or just an observation about their pipeline. Which of those have you seen actually work?
