LinkedIn Cold Message vs Cold Email: Which Is Easier to Accept and What Triggers You?

Which do you find easier to stomach: a LinkedIn cold message or a cold email? And what triggers you the most?

My company does cold email. I believe it's still the best way to catch people in a room they still accept bing sold to. No one I know responds well to a cold LinkedIn. I'm trying to just do customer discovery for my own venture on LinkedIn and I get crickets.

I absolutely hate "I know you're busy so I'll keep this short" It could have been a sentence shorter without that. I may be in the minority but I don't really care if a company has done their research as so much of it now is AI telling them what we do. I'd be much more receptive to an email saying: "Hey Ross, we do XYZ, worth a chat?" That and people starting emails with just "Ross," No Hey, no hello. Makes me feel like I'm back in school

Does it not feel too aggressive if it says: "Ross,..." ?
