Best Practices for Building an ARR Tracking Solution in Attio CRM for B2B SaaS Startups

Hey everyone! Has anyone here built or managed an ARR tracking solution in Attio? I’m working with a B2B SaaS startup that uses Attio as its CRM, and we’re designing a way to measure and monitor ARR growth. I’d love to learn how you’ve approached it, whether it’s your data model, automations, reporting, or any lessons learned along the way. Thanks in advance!

Is moving them to HubSpot an option?

If yes, then you could potentially track ARR movement off invoice-level MRR -with the caveat that your invoices cleanly split recurring vs one-time revenue. The bigger caveat is churn latency: with invoices you only find out someone churned when the next one doesn't arrive, so on annual plans you're a year behind. Subscription status tells you the day it happens, but Attio (even if properly integrated) will tell you only the current state of the subscription Having all the billing data in a warehouse would of course be the better option, especially for B2B SaaS where there are dozens of other useful applications for it.

I want to separate the billing from ARR reporting. The ARR should be managed separately but must also be aligned with billing. I did it before with Salesforce, and I don't see why it can't be done in Attio as well.

Hey Leore S., Not sure if you still need help with it but I can offer some insight as we are Official Attio Expert Partner at Automation Jinn. It depends on which billing system you are using but I will assume it’s Stripe. Here is how you would approach this in Attio- Most probably they are using the Workspace object as you mentioned B2B SaaS. There you can add all the ARR related attributes and sync them through Stripe webhooks depending on which data you need. You can have different fields for commercial and billing ARR/MRR. For complex calculations, you can use the newly released Formula block in Attio. Formulas can even help you compare the billing and commercial ARR or have a variance attribute to calculate the variance between them. From there you can easily make reporting on the top of it.
