Hey folks! Anyone else noticing deliverability shifts lately? With Google constantly tweaking spam filters, copy alone isn't cutting it tight SPF/DMARC mappings on secondary domains have become super critical. We just helped a team recover from a 40% inbox drop by fixing their multi-domain warmup setup. If anyone's currently troubleshooting spam issues or rebuilding their outbound infrastructure, happy to drop our quick 5-step checklist in the comments
Hey Ken O.! Sending bulk messages directly from a personal Gmail account triggers Google's automated spam filters very quickly due to the lack of custom DNS authentication. To get into the primary inbox, you'll need a custom domain with aligned SPF/DKIM/DMARC records or a proper newsletter tool like Beehiiv/Substack. Happy to share a quick checklist on setting up clean DNS records if you decide to move to a secondary domain!
Not sure I follow…. so mailing the newsletter from my business domain (webinarweekly.net) is fine, but mailing cold invitations should not come from that domain? I’ve been emailing cold invites from my personal ([email protected]) using YAMM which has me wondering whether emails are getting through. So, not sure I follow 😞
Free Gmail accounts are not built for cold outbound. Email providers strictly flag bulk emails sent from personal accounts, which is why most of your emails are likely hitting spam or getting throttled. If you send cold emails directly from your core business domain and get marked as spam, it burns the domain reputation for your entire business—including your newsletters and daily client communications. The Golden Standard for Cold Email:
Buy secondary domains (e.g., getwebinarweekly.com or joinwebinarweekly.com) with dedicated Google Workspace inboxes.
Set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records properly.
Warm them up before sending cold invites.
This way, even if cold outbound deliverability fluctuates, your main business domain stays 100% safe! If you need a hand setting up the dedicated Workspace inboxes and configuring proper DNS, I’d be happy to help you get it all sorted out!
