Hi, curious about other's experience in this --> I'm starting up a platform around data integration, quality and analytics between / for operational systems. We have a prototype running and are looking for launching customers. So far, I've experienced that it is hard to find launching customers willing to join in on something not running at a large range of clients yet, even though we offer a lot of flexibility and benefits as part of the 'launching customer' offer. Basically, I'm wondering how others have tackled this challenge of going from prototype to launching customers.
the flexibility and benefits framing might be what's working against you, Dennis. "launching customer" reads to an ops leader as "take a risk on us and we'll discount it", and ops leaders don't buy on discount, they buy on not getting blamed. what tends to work better is picking the one integration you already know cold, offering to solve just that in two weeks with a written scope of what you'll prove, and no platform commitment attached. they get a contained bet, you get real data and a reference. the platform conversation is much easier once someone has already watched you work.
Interesting take, since I come from agency perspective where we scope these sorts of integrations as projects, I basically saw the launching customers as 'hey here is something that you'd pay an agency quite a bit of money for, and now you get all that flexibility but instead only start paying when it proves its value. But I might indeed be underestimating the risk part when bringing it like that, and could instead try a more narrow focus that already works smoothly and build from there
similar challenge when we started aisa.to — nobody wanted to be a "launching customer" for an AI assessment tool. what changed it was stopping pitching the platform and instead offering to solve one narrow problem for free. our first real users weren't buying "AI skills assessment," they were buying "finally knowing which candidates actually know AI vs just claiming it on their CV." the narrower the promise, the easier the yes. once they saw results on that one thing the broader platform conversation happened on its own
Makes sense, will be experimenting with this in the coming period. Thanks guys!
What's your offer for clients? I'd be interested if there was a free trial period
Hi Monique, what we currently offer:
Together we design the desired state of what connections / features should be active to best benefit the client situation
Once this desired state is up, we enter a 3 month trial period (no strings attached)
After that, we either stop or commit to a first year of €300 per month
Free support for first year
If this sounds interesting to you, let me know and we can discuss further directly 🙂
Sounds great! So how to get started?
