Which Dresscode positioning, pricing, and launch channels would you choose?
Founder question for the GTM brains here π§ Take your closet everywhere you shop π Ever stood in a store holding a black sweater, trying to remember if you already own three of them? That's the moment my partner and I built Dresscode for (usedresscode.com). It puts your whole wardrobe on your phone, so you can check what you own before you buy, plan outfits ahead, and see what you actually wear. We just launched, and it's our first time personally taking a consumer app to market. One of our values is that you don't have to be greedy to be successful, so we're going for affordability and volume, not squeezing every dollar. We'd love this group's take on 4 things:
- 1.
Positioning: is "take your closet everywhere you shop" the lead, or is "get dressed in minutes" stronger?
- 2.
Pricing: free plan (up to 100 pieces), Premium at $10/mo or $100/yr. For a volume play, is that the right price point, or would a lower price grow faster?
- 3.
Free vs paid line: the free plan has the core (wardrobe, outfits, calendar, laundry). Premium adds the time-savers (one-tap weekly planning, outfit suggestions, insights). Generous enough to spread by word of mouth, while still giving people a reason to upgrade?
- 4.
First 100 paid users: that's our milestone before we kick off ads. With no ad spend yet, where would you start? Creators, communities, something else?
Happy to share what we learn in return. And if you try it, blunt feedback is very welcome π
