What's your Work Pattern Archetype? Find out at Headroom
What's your Work Pattern Archetype? Find out at https://headroomapp.co/ A few days ago I launched Headroom — a cognitive load assessment for knowledge workers. Something interesting is already showing up in the data. The most common archetype so far — particularly among team leads — is The Conductor. "Your job is to make everyone else's job possible. Nobody sees the cost of that." This isn't surprising once you think about it. Most knowledge work is coordination disguised as productivity. You hold the threads. The team moves. Deliverables ship. But the cognitive tax of orchestrating everything — the invisible load — never shows up in a performance review. Sweller's Cognitive Load Theory has a name for this. High extraneous load. The friction of managing everything around the work, rather than the work itself. The Conductor isn't burned out from too much challenge. They're depleted from too little recognition and too little space for work that's actually theirs. If that sentence landed — it might be time to check your headroom. 2 minutes. No sign up required.
