welcome Greg. onboarding is where most plg motions quietly leak, and the usual cause is that the first run was designed around everything the product can do rather than the one thing the person signed up to get done. every extra step in there is another place to close the tab. the teams that fix it usually pick a single first outcome, make everything else in the flow skippable, and only then decide where a human should show up. intentional is the right word for it, most onboarding is just accumulated.
