Good point Jared R. I somehow forgot to mention build vs buy…it's the bane of my existence right now 🥲

I'll expand - every sales cycle now includes a discussion on how we can work with their GPT/Claude. Buyers have way more ability to research and evaluate competitive solutions with AI. There's overall more competition (on paper) in a lot of markets due to a new platform popping up daily making hefty claims. Lastly, SaaS spending got out of control for years (everyone buying the shiny new ‘thing’) so more conversations are based around consolidation and offloading tech debt.

I think recruiting is getting affected by AI overall too. Especially in-house recruiting roles.

Not going to lie. One of the things that has actually helped me cut through the noise is being wildly casual and making my messaging so obviously human it hurts (I spell stuff wrong on purpose sometimes). Being the one message in someone's inbox that is well-researched AND human has turned into a competitive advantage. Now my girl Claudia is trained to talk like me too to save more time.

I think it's both tbh. Way worse in the sense that AI is being used to both apply to jobs AND assess resumes so the chances of getting an interview through traditional means is 1000x harder. Better in the sense that more hiring managers seem much more interested in applicants that are reaching out and basically using their sales skills to land an interview. Also AI skills are something that can set you apart as an applicant very fast. That's my opinion at least (which may be biased) but would love to hear what others think.
