Agreed, but we've had a lot of success empowering our SMEs to build the tools instead of trying to find existing one. There's there's no one better IMO, they know what they need in a custom tool since they live it everyday. We provide the connectors and give them the direction/tools/tokens to build, and accountability to get things to the finish line. Most tend to think it's the first step in replacing themselves, but it comes down to the culture you've built. Is it growth minded where leaders consistently train their replacements or not. Those that do are the ones who move up, not get replaced.
