Celebrating Karthiga Ratnam: A Journey of Friendship and Growth
@channel Yesterday we celebrated one of the most incredible soul's in the space (and my life's) birthday. The co-founder of Audience Haus and RevGenius's birthday: Karthiga Ratnam (Connect and Follow her!!!). The day was filled with a ton of joy (& killer food and shopping itinerary), but first want to share what she means to me. Karthi and I met while she was at GTM Partners and while we grew our partnership between the orgs, our friendship and mutual mentorship blossomed. From her I learned a ton about category design, thinking differently, and putting so many of the concepts I've read about (in my favorite books like 'Play Bigger' and 'Pattern Breakers' - must reads) into play in real life. But also building on the concepts and recalibrating to present day inflection points like the world of AI and the need to build movements. She challenged me intellectually in ways I hadn't been challenged in and yearned to grow. And grow I have. I knew I had built a movement with RevGenius, but have had to go on a journey to unpack exactly why we had our success and how to duplicate it for others (and myself again!). She helped me learn, and see some of the things I missed along the way, and how we can improve. We built Audience Haus, first as a side project, to share these learnings with other young companies in AI and help them create markets and build movements. What started as a newsletter evolved into a partnership with incredible founders. Our clients have seen such incredible results and are positioned to build categories and change the space for the better. I can say without a doubt that this wouldn't have been possible without her. This also unlocked a new level of joy in my professional life that I was unable to unlock alone; fully aligning with my purpose (to help others, the world, and just generally do dope sh*t). And it positively spilled over to RevGenius, where we are building the next big movement in the revenue world. We are so excited to show you all! Karthi has been a friend to me, Mallory, dog, family and every single person that's in her life. She's an advocate for others and a driver of social impact (in addtion to revenue). She's been in NYC to spend this week with me and the city we look forward to continuing to build in. So it was only fitting that we took yesterday off to optimize for joy and fun. Because I was a bit under the weather, we agreed hanging in Williamsburg and Greenpoint (near where I live) would work well. Here's our complete itinerary (walking): 10 am Peter Pan Donuts in Greenpoint 11 am Awoke vintage (got a sweet Romeo & Juliet t) 11:30 am Walk through McCarren Park 12 pm Le Labo perfumes in Williamsburg (lots procured) 12:30 pm ON store (new shoes) 1 pm l'industrie pizza in williamsburg for lunch (the best) 2 pm Levain Bakery in Williamsburg 2: 30 pm Diptyque (was a day of scents) 3 pm My new office in Greenpoint (ended up upgrading space!) 4 pm walk around greenpoint to the water 5:30 pm OXOMOCO It was an incredible day celebrating an incredible person. ❤️ post on linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jaredrobin_yesterday-we-celebrated-one-of-the-most-incredible-activity-7313213896595496961--Vlb?
