Challenges in Data De-duplication and Master Record Creation

Hi everybody, does anyone have issues de-duplicating or matching data from multiple sources, e.g. partial company names, people, and creating master data records? Something that deals with data entry errors, mismatched columns/schemas, abbreviations, typos, etc. If yes, it'd be great to hear about your pain points.
