anyone else seeing reps try to solve deal prep by layering general AI on top of their CRM? curious what results people are actually getting. from what we've seen the outputs are fine in isolation but there's no memory between sessions, no consistency across reps, and nothing tying it back to what's actually being sold. every run feels like starting from scratch. wondering if this is a widespread problem or if teams have found a way to make it work.
For a smaller client of mine, the AI use case we built with general AI (Claude) was to get their sellers to create a sales project that connects note takers (Fireflies) and the CRM (Hubspot). All the deal notes, meeting summaries, etc. were generated through this approach. The result has been good and it provides good mechanisms to trigger daily check ins on deal next steps, nudges, etc. Hope this helps and happy to share more! It sounds like using individual chats in the AI leaves little context. Using project instructions also solves for consistency.
I see a general lack of knowledge of HOW to prep. Itβs not just AI, but also gaining situational knowledge of the deal. I have been seeing this happen for years. Controltheroom.ai
This falls into a workflow/process issue. Using AI can't be a wild west scenario. Establish proper workflow/process and you will see the results that matter for making the right decisions.
At my previous company I built an AI Sales Chat Buddy that had a foundation of learning: MEDDPIC, Command of the message, playbooks I created, etc. - then you can see the real power responses and captures
