Debating Email Tracking Risks with Outreach: Seeking Perspectives
Hey gang - my team have just implemented Outreach and there's some internal debate around email tracking. Outreach (and others like it) insert a small pixel into prospect emails as an image when tracking is enabled. Since 2024 Gmail are flagging any emails with images to users as potential spam, with the option to report. Obviously if enough prospects choose to do this it will hurt our sender reputation. I don't really have a strong POV here as I'm reasonably new in this role and my last job was at a large consulting firm who weren't doing lots of cold outbound. Wondering what people's thoughts on this are.. is it worth the risk? Is the risk that big? Is a prospect opening an email really a workable sign of intent for salespeople? Would love to get some perspectives on this π
