How do you track deals/revenue tied to people who send intros on your behalf? To validate assumptions about which relationships are actually bringing in value? I figured out a basic system in hubspot, but I think there must be a better tool for this specifically.
Hey Aria - for our CRM (clickandflow.xyz), if someone makes an intro, our AI agent looks to see if there is an account and or contact in the CRM. If not, those are created automatically and then we align the opportunity to whomever is getting credit for the revenue. I hope this answers your question! So we are less on where the deal originated from and who is owning the opportunity / product. That pushes downstream processes like contract and invoicing.
Thank you! Great to see another method
Most HubSpot setups lose this because the intro person isn’t on the deal. I’ve had luck with a contact role like “Introduced by” plus a deal property that stores that contact, then a simple report on deals where that field is filled. If volume gets big, association labels beat stuffing it into notes. Where does your basic system break first, reporting or the handoff when the intro person isn’t in HubSpot?
Thank you Kshitji! It doesn't necessarily break it just seems clunkier than necessary, so I'm just seeing what other tools are out there that might be better designed for this specific use case.
Fair. HubSpot can do it, it just feels bolted on. I haven’t found a clean “intro attribution” product that beats a solid HubSpot setup for most teams, but if your volume of intro deals is high enough, looking at partner/referral CRMs or a thin layer on top of HubSpot can be worth it. What’s the volume look like, a few intros a month or a steady flow?
Just thinking out loud, potentially create individual forms for each partner. When they want to refer someone they fill in the form with the person's details which will bring that prospect into Hubspot. You can then create a report based on form fills and conversion rates and values based on that. The only issue with this is getting people to actually fill it in. The simplest is to create a custom field with referrer and use that as a reporting metric
