Hey everyone, I’m looking for tips and help on cold calling and closing clients — any advice would really help
Hi Safeullah - are you new to sales? Has your company provided you with any training or call scripts?
Sudhir P., well, yes, that's true, but some prep work needs to be done before picking up the phone, and if you are brand new, you need some help or will get crushed in the first hour. Has the ICP been identified? What's the value proposition of the offering? Is there a target list? A phone script? Support? As for closing deals, there is a process to follow to develop an opportunity that leads to a Closed/Won or Closed/Lost

Hi Sahi H. Hi, a few quick tips that helped me early in my career:
Know your prospect – Spend 2–3 mins researching what they do and whether they’re using a competitor. In my early days (pre-LinkedIn!), this meant deep prep — now, LinkedIn makes it easier. Use it.
Start with value – Lead with how you solve their problem, not with your product pitch.
Keep it conversational – Listen more than you speak. Good questions uncover real needs.
Handle objections with calm – Most “no” responses are just unclear “maybe”s. Stay confident and address concerns thoughtfully.
Follow-up matters – The first call rarely closes a deal. It’s usually the 2nd or 3rd touchpoint where momentum builds.
