Hello, I am a solo founder and have been building connectcurator.ai, a B2B offering primarily targeted at Product Marketing Managers and data aggregators for company insights data, all by myself with my personal savings. I wanted to ask for your advise on how best to approach people in Sales/GTM who can help me with sales on a purely commission/revenue sharing basis. Are there any specific channels where I can post about this?
I would suggest to post in 🔒[private feed] channel.
Thank you, DP
Niraj U. Based on my own experiences, I think the best approach would be to first do it yourself — figure out the sales process, learn what works, and refine it. Once you’ve done that, you can bring in a commission-only salesperson. The thing is, without any equity or fixed pay, most salespeople won’t go out of their way to hit targets. Their morale can drop if they don’t see quick results. You’ll end up spending time hiring, training, and then replacing them when they leave. So, it’s better to start by doing it yourself, build the playbook, and then bring in a commission-only salesperson. Since they don’t have real skin in the game, they’re not the right fit for figuring out your sales process from scratch.
That's great advice, Sai. Thank you. I will start the cold outreach myself and see what I can learn.
Sai M. By the way, I worked with LeadIQ for over 4.5 years, helping build their main offering Prospector so please let me know if I can offer any help as I see ReachFast.ai is in a similar domain.
