Has anyone had any luck with direct mail for sales outreach? I am launching a big direct mail campaign and want to hear from anyone else if they have any great results or tips to share.
sendoso and reachdesk have built a killer business on gifting. Direct mail, I'm less sure about. What's the ICP
Marketing leadership at 250-500 employee companies who have recently received funding. I am doing a postcard like mailer.'
for that ICP the timing signal matters more than the channel. recently funded = new budget holders who haven't locked in vendors yet. I'd layer a trigger (new VP/CMO hire or funding announcement) on top of the firmographic filter and hit them within the first 30 days. postcard mailers work best when they reference something specific — the funding round, the new hire — not generic "let's chat" copy
I've had more success with automated WhatsApp messaging (using the official API to avoid blocks). My conversion rate via email is almost zero.
Sorry 🤣
I’d be curious to know whether you’re measuring the lift from direct mail alone or using it as a pattern interrupt before email/LinkedIn. Feels like the combination might outperform either channel by itself.
I'm using it as a Pattern interrupter before email/linkedin/ calling. More like “hi did you get my letter”
Are we talking a postcard or a case of champagne bottles?:)
Jokes aside, I do believe it’s a good idea - at least it will stand out in this age of AI outreach. I would add something to the postcard though - something small but physical. Here's an inspiring story: our CEO’s mom is into knitting. So he asked her to knit a bunch of cute piggies with our company logo on them. Our ceo would then take those piggies to conferences and gift them to people he spoke with - always telling that is was handcrafted by his mom. People loved this - see photo
the irony is real — AI making digital outreach so cheap and scalable is exactly what's making physical mail valuable again. the piggies story is a perfect example. when everyone's inbox is full of AI-generated sequences, the handwritten letter becomes the signal in the noise
Ilya S. this is brilliant. Reminds me of the piñata mailing company. Apparently they've been crushing it for years now. https://www.pinatagrams.com/?srsltid=AfmBOooXFPRQXIgBMxjlTKZLzh0_8VRKxfFvpneb_rBy7eCNRb8fvKKK
Love this. Do they have an api?
Doesn't look like it. They def need one!
