Seeking Feedback on Offering Free Work to Gain B2B Experience

Can someone poke holes in my idea of offering free work to small/new startups so that I can get a B2B/Commercial experience on my resume? - current heavy in Non-Profits and want to transition for NP to for profit RevOps/GTM/SalesOps. I have a gut feeling just getting any type of revenue experience will help.

If you wanna get B2B experience, get a B2B sales role. Maybe you are confusing Revenue Operations from actual revenue generating sales roles?

Kris appreciate that thought. I’m in a sales operations function in non-profits - Prospect Management - and want to hop over to the commercial side.

Lots of different forms of networking should help, as well as maybe more targeted outreach. Connecting with other revops pros here, via other digital groups and any in-person meetups is great. Have also found providing insights up front to companies actively looking for what you do (in your case revops) or in a stage where that help is typically needed for the first time is a good approach. That's usually seed/series A in startup land. May also consider getting a mentor in the specific industry you want to be in.
