Building Your Brand vs. Marketing Your Product on LinkedIn

I'm also curious if building my own brand on linkedin first matters or should I just double down on marketing my product on linkedin ?

You’re brand is all that matters on LinkedIn. Not your profit, not your company page. Your thought leadership is what sells you. From there trust is built and then they may be interested in what you’re selling. Can’t be done overnight.
