@channel Question for the group at large: Annual planning season: the Superbowl of spreadsheets, or the Hunger Games of headcount? Curious—when do you start your annual GTM or revenue planning? Has anyone started already? And how long does it take before someone says “We’ll just copy/paste last year’s model”? No judgment. Just collecting some war stories.🪖⏲️
Usually, start in Q3 with high level projections. Budgets change, targets change, HC and priorities change and we will have a version by November. There are fun stories of 2 AOPs in a year, and that's for another day 😁
Jesper Q. Does your strategy to execute change monthly too? I am on the marketing side, so changing my budget every month give me the whiplash something fierce. If you are changing that often, maybe we should talk more. The company I work for might be able to make that far less. DM me if you to connect directly. Or check us out here.
Ben C. I am off when I hear rugby final for girls but ok biggest sport event is football final the one with feet let’s leave that slide when did increase marketing budget monthly create whiplash? We keep increasing as scale rapidly going 150+ monthly ARR growth for 24 months so we keep moving the goal post think that’s a reference to the handball with protection :)
You are right, I assumed it was monthly decreases not expansion. Expanding is a different and much happier story. That is a fine adjustment to have to make monthly. Hahaha.
We have started already, first in person leadership meetings about 2026 to come late May
