Ok then, in addition to human stupidity - any tech needs a solid operating framework that is functioning effectively (not only efficiently). Back then there was a rush to adopt anything digital. This was like a band aid to a gun shot wound. A lot of hype but it came crashing down because of not sound business decisions or strategic planning. It is the same now too - rush to adoption because it is shiny, but no proper prep strategically other than 'everyone is doing it'.... This is something we still haven't learned. Another thing is you need domain expertise, you can't retrofit experience onto tech. Tech and market evolves, you need the basics and fundamentals to adapt.
