agree with Samuel O. a big thing you'll have to deal with is - where are you getting the email addresses from? The data might not be that clean, AND as a cold email marketer, be aware that others have bought your list and are cold emailing also. If the data is not that "clean", you will get a lot of bounces, and a high bounce rate doesn't help your sender reputation.

Some will go the route of having a hundred email accounts - you can't blast 100+ emails a day, or your domain can get flagged and shut down. These tools do the warm-up and send out 20 emails a day, so your domain reputation doesn't get hurt.

I'm a HubSpot-certified Email Marketer. I picked that up and have done some cold email projects on the side of my sales career. Also, a lot of CRM's won't let you load that email list. There are tools to integrate these names once they have replied and opted in to receiving communications from you.

I would assume anyone planning to do cold email isn't planning to use HubSpot. I'm looking at building out a cold email stack alongside our HubSpot instance. Instantly.io is on my shortlist, along with Smartlead.ai.

For me it's a completely new service line my company is trying out. I have been doing a manual efforts so far, with very custom email template. We are still in the line of figuring out our ICP.

If you want a good mix of personalization and automation, what I've found is creating a csv with my list of leads and creating a column called "tailored message" or something similar. I've made sure that the formatting is always the same so it would fit into an email along the lines of I noticed "Insert tailored Message here" This is a slower process but does align with what you were saying about doing your research. From there I would load these leads into an email automation platform like Persist or Salesloft (these are just what I've used, there are loads of options) Then create an email using the variable from the column I created previously. This way you are still doing your research but still automating actually putting this into your messages and sending them out.
