The amount of spam form fills on one of my clients is out of control. We just added ClickCease and not yet seeing a reprieve. Other suggestions? Honeypot the best next step? Or “weird” question on the form to confirm realness?
Might be controversial, but there are services now that will ask for a $1 charitable donation from a submitter. $1 is nothing to someone that’s serious, but it sure cuts down the spam.
Kristin P. - I use FillOut and it's uncommon that I get spammers...that said, it's been a while since I've posted an external form (probably six months). Did some digging into some other options for you too.
I love the honeypot idea.
Honeypot will help a bit, what is the industry and what platforms are you seeing it from
SEO industry. My own platform.
Kyle B. i realized i never wrote you back. Paid Search and Education Saas (more or less)
Kristin P. there are multiple settings that can be in place on paid search that could cause this. Such as Google ads search partners being enabled or on Microsoft Ads with syndicated search partners. Both are massive sources of fraud. But there are more areas that could be issues. I work at LOCOMOTIVE Agency running the paid media team. If you want I can do an audit and see what other issues there may be. It could be a deeper issue like conversion goal optimizations or targeting.
