Are Linkedin Thought Leader ads gone? Or merged with the 'Boost' functionality? I can't find the option in the Campaign Manager.
Following.
Still there but not intuitive. You have to choose “single image ad” then “Browse existing content” to find the employee’s post
Allison G. thank you! Such a roundabout way. Does it also work if the employee post is text-only?
Just starting testing these and am curious Rassam (and others) what your goal is for these types of ads? I started running them last week out of curiosity. Very high CTR (relatively) but not seeing huge impact on my website, and a slight bump in LI followers. How should I be thinking of these types of ads vs. some with more clear goals?
Hey Daniel M. this is how we use LinkedIn thought leadership ads at DemandMagic for our clients -
Create a custom audience (could be target accounts/contacts) OR a saved audience (with job titles, industry etc filters)
Pick at least 3 posts that have performed well organically. Aim for the combination of Video (Trust- they see you in their feed), Single Image (Expertise - they actually read what you posted), Premium content (Giving something for free)
Boost them and target the audience you created in the step 1
Create a remarketing list
Let the thought leadership ads run for at least 30 days
Create an awareness campaign for LinkedIn page. Target the remarketing list. The aim is to create relevancy. They are already seeing you in their feed, now they will see your brand.
Create a sponsored messaging campaign and send out messages to that remarketing list. This time the aim is to get demos/trials etc.
hey Daniel M.. long time no talk! would love to catch up and hear how things are going. Harjindra S. on my team who already replied is the best i've worked with on this stuff so definitely pick his brain and don't hesitate to hop on a call with him. in the meantime i'll shoot you a DM and see if you have time to catch me up on how things are going sometime soon
Daniel M. Honestly, it's a scam ... so far lol. I did the math here: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/muhammad-rassam_linkedin-has-been-pushing-the-boost-fe[…]m=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAADHpR3sBQJX81GxvbblgHL4cvQ6T1H31xzI Now maaaybe, the results would be better if I had picked the audience more diligently but 43 website visits (+ 2 if you count premium button interactions) should have led to at least ONE conversion (just fyi: our landing page has a 18% conversion rate as per Google Analytics and majority traffic is organic social not SEO ... yet). My hunch is that if you optimize for 'website visits', the entire post area is clickable and there can be plenty more 'accidental clicks' than genuine ones (I know because I've been on the other side). This was a boosted post btw, not a thought leader ad. But so far I'm not impressed. It's just as you said, apart from a slight boost in followers + CTR, there isn't much to write home about. I'm now running a small experiment with my co-founder's post. We'll see how the numbers do on that one.
