For those of you offering consulting or strategic services, what’s been your most effective lead generation channel so far? I’m building out my client acquisition strategy for my consulting firm and would love to hear what’s worked best for you—whether it’s email, content, referrals, partnerships, or something less conventional.
Everyone already said referrals and networking. Both work. But if you know your ICP and you're ready for cold outbound, here's the ramp I'd follow:
Start with people who already know you. Social media followers, past clients, email list.
Then talk to any local businesses in your ICP. In-person convos still convert.
Then scale to cold outreach. Email, DMs, calls. Just make sure your list is tight.
Hey Matt E. - Talking directly with local business owners in my ICP, almost like old-school door knocking and attending virtual networking events with fellow entrepreneurs has worked really well for me. I was able to book two discovery calls in one day using these methods. My next focus is building out a reliable cold leads list so I can start structured outreach at scale.
Brilliant - are there any virtual networks you'd recommend?
I’m still looking into networks however the MEG Community is one I found that host a free virtual networking event every month. I attended and the founder is very knowledgeable and a decent size crowd showed up.
Check out this post (not my post) - funny I just read it, liked it and then saw your conversation about the same topic - meant to be I guess! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/erika-velazquez-alpern_as-someone-whos-built-marketing-strategies-activity-7356724558969593856-KMc8?utm_medium=ios_app&rcm=ACoAAADjO8ABTNwHEaAsforXhP_Kch0dWhcvWOA&utm_source=social_share_send&utm_campaign=share_via
