One go to question I always use is - If you lost internet for the entire day, what would you do work wise to help yourself.
It usually stumps them for a second but lets me see how scrappy or strategic they will be

I ask them to teach me something they find interesting. Anything at all. Purpose: how do they explain a concept to a stranger. I want them to show excitement AND break things down by asking questions.
