Hey gang! đ Quick question: Whatâs your take on Apollo with all features enabled? How do you think it stacks up against something like Amplemarket? Alsoâif anyone here is an Apollo superuser (and doesnât work for Apollo), Iâd love to pick your brain with a couple of quick questions in DMs. Would seriously make my day đ
What is the context behind the ask?
Right now, weâre using Gong to record calls, Gong Engage for cadences (though weâve found that part a bit underwhelming), and Apollo for data (only). Ideally, weâd like to consolidate as much of this as possible under one roof, and Iâm wondering if Apollo could be a strong contender to fully handle our outreach flows.

Hey Alex! We work with a range of tools depending on the clientâs GTM setupâApolloâs great if you want data, sequencing, and dialer all under one roof. Canât speak to Amplemarket as we havenât used it directly, but we typically recommend using Clay as the orchestration layer. It gives you full control to design outbound workflows, blend the best data sources, and plug in tools like Apollo where they make sense. That said, the tools are just the wiring. The real power comes from the engine behind itâhow you build smart ICPs, layer in signals, and personalise at scale. Always happy to swap notes in the thread or DMs.
I keep hearing a lot about Clay⌠we use ZoomInfo along with Gong and Gong Engage and it very much is a âwhat tool do we use when and where?â So would love to swap notes and chat. And definitely agree with you Nico, layering in ICP, signals AND personalization at scale is where the magic happens, itâs just getting there thatâs the challenging part!
Hey Alex Moisley, we help B2B startups with their GTM strategies using 30+ tools and we constantly test multiple sales tools for their features, reliability, and scalability. We only use Apollo for raw data and never recommend our customers to use it for anything else. Amplemarket can be a good option, too. But the cost ads up real quick. The challenge with tools like Amplemarket and Apollo is they were not outreach engagement tools, they both were data companies. Their infrastructure aren't reliable and will affect your deliveravility. How we use tools like Apollo and other database solutions is:
Export Raw Data from these tools (Apollo, ZoomInfo)
Import them to Clay for Data Enrichment, Intelligence, Intent/Signals, Segmentation, Scoring, Copywriting (usually the First Lines)
Push the contacts and information to SEPs like lemlist, Instantly, or LaGrowthMachine.
If you still want to consolidate everything, I'd recommend using Intantly.ai or lemlist, they both have reliable database and are perfect for email or multi-channel outreach.
