Overindexed imo. I find it interesting that the leadership making this "decision" probably never spent a day in their life as an SDR so they think its just a magic pill we can all take.
Couldn't agree more Richard H.. I’ve only ever seen them work in stuff like research or enrichment etc. but you can smell the generic AI fast when you let them run cold outbound end-to-end. Might end up hurting the brand more than helping it. 🤷🏽
Use case is pretty solid for prospecting, researching or generating intelligence. I think people have been bombarded with so many cold calls that hearing another AI voice becomes off-putting.
AI SDRs can definitely help with scale and personalization, but I still think human conversation matters a lot especially in cold calling and qualification.
Automation can start conversations, but trust and closing still depend heavily on the human side.
Voice AI is not where it needs to be yet. There are some good tools out there, but sales requires a cadence, an eb and flow, a question and answering. An AI tool can’t do that naturally without the other person on the other side, knowing that it’s AI
