Hubspot forms question: I’ve recently taken over an instance and some of the automated workflows flood Leads with junk. What are the specific workflows that have worked for you in the past? Be specific with Lead Status, Lifecycle stage, and automation. Much appreciated.
can you clarify what "junk" looks like? i've had a couple of clients who have done the following
Segregated anyone without a branded email address (so gmails, etc.) unless in exceptional circumstances. Tied them to negative lead scoring or excluded from scoring entirely
Lifecycle stages to reflect the above (e.g. a stage of "Other")
Same question as above...what do you mean by "junk". Simply unqualified form fills, or are we talking spam?
Junk means unqualified solicitations, other vendor outbound. I can filter some of those or dispose of them. But I’m looking more for the logic that has worked for other from a Hubspot form which creates a new contact, what workflow are you using from the marketing side to get it to MQL? Are you using Lead status = New And Lifecycle stage = Lead or if they are downloading a paper changing it to Lifecycle stage = MQL
All of my clients have tied the MQL lifecycle stage to lead scoring, so they only become an MQL when they reach a sufficient score threshold by interacting with marketing assets. Do your forms have a captcha field... that's one way to block out junk. I would also add fields that bots can't submit (custom questions, etc.) and HubSpot has recently rolled out a spam feature for forms, though it might still be in beta
