hey everyone bit of a sanity check / weird question. so i've been in B2B SaaS for about 18 years now. spent the last 5 as COO at a mining tech startup (took it from first customer to $6.5M ARR. lol and not crypto mining- real digging for gold type mining). these days i advise early-stage aussie founders on GTM. i've also been a CRM nerd for way too long. like, embarrassingly long. siebel back in the day (yeah i know), then salesforce, then hubspot for the last 6-7 years. i was a proper hubspot fanboy. would've defended it at dinner parties. no cap. now that i'm running my own advisory and working with early-stage startups, hubspot just feels like overkill. takes forever to set up properly. and half the stuff i used to do manually..logging calls, prepping for meetings, updating deal notes..i just don't think we need to do anymore. i keep seeing all these "AI CRMs" popping up every week. but honestly? they all feel like the same thing with chatgpt bolted on. right? so i've spent the last 3 months hacking together my own thing. anyway. i'm using it for myself and the startups i work with. but i keep wondering—is this just a me problem? am i just picky? or do other people feel the same way about their setup? if you're frustrated with your stack—hubspot bloat, notion databased, spreadsheet etc, whatever—i'd love to hear what's broken for you. not selling anything. genuinely just trying to figure out if i'm the only one. drop a comment or DM me. keen to swap war stories. cheers, sachee — https://www.linkedin.com/in/sachee
I use Chat/Claude to scrape for target accounts (based on firmographic data). Upload to Airtable. Airtable syncs with Evergrowth.com for enrichment (Clay for n00bs), which syncs to HubSpot (for sequencing only - and cuz I have a free for life alumni license), which syncs to Day.ai.
Day should be coming out with a sequencer in H1 of next year, and then I can dump HubSpot and simplify my stack
hopes this helps
Sachee P. I feel there are so many CRM tools. Do you have a link to the one you build for yourself?
Seen Breakcold as well and they're doing great stuff! But Im leaning into Attio, bootstraping is definitely cooler, but I think we all can agree that the one who has more money sets the rules to this game ultimately I really do believe AI native CRMs will crush in the next few years, they just need a bit more time + capital + AI sophistication to deliver great value prop for up-market companies
I agree with Maksym it will get there but havent seen it yet. Check out https://www.lessannoyingcrm.com/. I just became a partner but havent decided how much i want to invest in it
Max P. soooo are you actually just betting on Attio because “it has more money” (well has received investments … does not mean is profitable) or have you actually used it and compared features and functionalities 🧐😅 Because personally I played with both and it really depends of the use case you have. Break cold is amazing, very easy to get used to it, oriented towards multi-channel engagement and allows for unified inbox across channels (including LinkedIn which closes a massive gap on how sales operate and where they can get a lot of revenue from). Attio is hyper flexible and basically starts from a blank page which can be great if you know what you want to build and has the right team to support that. Then yes it’s highly flexible however it can be a huge lift for many companies to actually know what they want out of their CRM and therefore drag forever before they get something meaningful. So yes they got the money backing but that doesn’t mean it’s a better product to use. Curious what’s your level of experience using those 2 CRMs?
Yeah man I agree with what you're saying. Attio -> am running on it for some time now and applied to creator program recently. I literally see the potential in customization and even SDK it has, maybe I could even do implementations for the segment of market that you mentioned at this point Breakcold -> nothing further than YT videos of their founder. However I absolutely agree that for sales-led growing b2b teams this has high chance of being better, just because of multi-channel engagement
happy to chat!
