Hi everyone, I’m a senior operations manager looking to transition into RevOps and was wondering what’s actually needed? I'm about to complete the RevOps certification by HubSpot Planning to then achieve the Salesforce Admin certification And some free SQL courses. But wondering if there’s any other certifications I NEED, or if building a sort of portfolio is better even if it’s based on “fake” data but just to showcase what I can do? Any guidance is super welcomed! 🙏
Is more internal team operations for the organic search and R&D departments. Vendor management, forecasting, financial reporting, invoice intake, QA and reporting, task allocation, bandwidth tracking for staffing, appraisal assignment, tracking, reporting, process design and optimization. More or less that. I don’t really touch Salesforce (or any CRM tool) that’s why I’m studying it. The RevOps Hubspot certification is about RevOps not about the CRM. I’m currently helping the RevOps team with an analysis about channel mix and win rate for appraisals. I know certificates are nice to haves, and experience is what matters and I’m happy to go down into a more entry-ish level RevOps position, because it’s been hard getting more experience. But that’s why I’m curious to see what else I could do to be of value in a RevOps position (+ get my CV taken into consideration).
Can you move onto your internal RevOps team?
Not yet. They are a full team. And my manager is not too happy with me moving from where I am now, at least for a year or so. I talked to the VP of RevOps he said I can continue to do small projects and maybe in the future I could move into it. But it’s not too certain which is why I’m looking elsewhere sadly, cause I do like the company but I feel that just stops my growth if im honest.
